2017
Commerce – Community Action Program

The Commerce-Community Action Program is focused on helping the youth and their families in Commerce, Texas to succeed.  To accomplish this end, the following activities will be focused on during 2017.   Additional services are possible contingent on funding, human resources and authorization by the Board of Directors.
1. Cinco de Mayo Festival  – This celebration will be held at the Eddie Moore Sports Park in Commerce, TX.  C-CAP will participate in the planning, partial funding and delivery of this program on May 6, 2017 time TBA.
2. Juneteenth Celebration  – A program aimed at promoting African American heritage.  To be held at the Ivory Moore Park on June 17, 2017 –    4-9:30PM.
3. Commerce Institute for the Arts (C.I.A.) – This is a multifaceted program featuring art, music and dance for an intense period of time for 6th ,7th  & 8th grades from 8AM-3PM Monday – Saturday.  July 17 – 22, 2017.  Location to be announced.
4. Luau- A welcome back program for college students to be held August 25, 2017 at the TAMU-C Rayburn Student Center.  It features a combined effort of city and university persons to demonstrate a cohesiveness of the population at large working together to serve the student body of TAMU-Commerce.   Participation in the planning, funding and execution of activities is our desire.
